i find the boot usefull when its split 50/50 (front board as a upright divider) with the boards in place its ideal when you have the back seats down as it gives a level ish loading area what means you dont have to lift stuff out the boot If you put the boards in carpet side down it gives you a non slip area with the seats still up if you slide them forward it gives you that extra room for that big shopping trip
had 3 adult bikes in the back of mine not a problem and one time a 300 litre fish tank |

I like it. Had our '07 1.4 SE for a year now and I'm mostly pleased with it. It's comfortable to drive and looks good for a boring car. I wanted a boxy car instead of the jelly mould style so that the inside space is more efficient and the Note was the only boxy car my wife liked the lok of. Air con sometimes stinks a bit and we have a leak at the back door but all is good otherwise. The initial good selling point of having adjustable boot space is actually totally pointless once you have used it for a while in my opinion. The boot is tiny with the boards up, why would anyone ever use it like that? |

I had 3 Maxis over 20 yrs then 4 Favorits, all very second-hand and cheap. The Note (56 reg) is my newest car, bought for wife who doesn't drive, so I'm chauffeur (and gofer). I don't like it much, except for ease of access. The final drive ratio would suit a van/pick-up, so mpg would be better with a lower ratio. The pedals are too light so I get negligible feedback (designed for dainty feet?). The windscreen pillars obscure critical areas, especially at junctions. The ign key is needed for radio and windows. The radio loudness control is push-button instead of rotary - hardly a safety feature. The ign keyhole is hard to find in the dark. The remote locking has a ludicrously huge range (over 50ft) and the pads on the key are easily pressed by accident. If you've all day I'll find more ... but SWMBO likes it, so I'm stuck with it. I'll admit to approving of the variable boot size and the seat height. If I find any more pro points I'll let you know. |

Its a bit dull inside (as are most jap cars) but i have a few bits i am airbrushing but thay will get finnished one day, its on my list of things todo honest lol On a side note whiteline do anti roll bars for the note and eibach do some decent springs what will make the note a much better drive imho |

i had been toying with the idea of getting a note for sometime, and eventually replaced my astra 1.8 with a 1.6 note early last month, after a few weeks debating weather i had done the right thing, i honestly cannot fault the car, it shows that its averaging 48mpg, it cruises along nicely, and having owned many cars in the past, its the best handling car i have driven for ages. living in the north east there are some great driving roads up and around the dales and moors, and i would say that this car is the closest thing to driving my old classic mini (except quieter and much more spacious)
