Hi JX.
Yes a leak on the exhaust will cause the car to use more fuel. Personally i would keep away from Kwik Fit unless you need 4 tyres, 4 shocks, front discs and pads and rear brake shoes. Try a nice, friendly, local garage. Mick

Not sure, if the leak is before the oxygen sensor it definately would sent the fuelling mad and increase consumption. They used to say exhaust systems needed a certain amount of back pressure for an engine to 'flow' at it's best. As for Kwitfit, I'm not a fan and would take it to an independent garage. |

Hi Guys,
Have noticed recently fuel consumption is not as good as usual, t reg nissan micra 1.0 profile. Noticed that heat shield has been vibrating loudly and had a quick look underneath and am wondering if there is a hole in the exhaust near the joint. WOuld this explain increas of fuel consumption? Also should i take it to kwikfit or should i go else where im not really sure how much the middle bit of my exhaust should cost? Any suggestions greatly receieved ![]() jx |
