Hi! I wonder if anyone can help? The wipers on my '53 plate micra will start up of their own accord whilst driving along, and won't stop, even though the switch is turned off! They will stop when the indicators are on, and when the rear washer is activated though!! I have had it looked at, and the washer pump has been changed, the Body control unit connections cleaned, and the swich checked and the cabling inspected at the steering wheel junction (crock joint?)!! Now the wipers don't seem to come by themselves when on normal driving, but will start up when the washer is activated, but then won't stop until the engine is turned off!! This is really driving me mad, as I hate it when wipers scrape over a dry screen!
Please help if you can! |

I pressume this is a new shape Micra (K12) If so then try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes as this will reset the control units and generally fixes a whole list of odd faults. Mick |

+1 That was fast. Well done, mate. I had the same thing a while back. Disconnected the batt and wipers shut off. What I am curious is what triggered this behavior. |

Could this, be caused from continuous exposure on humidity, which somehow jams the unit? I 've never heard it around my place... |

Oh dear, spoke too soon! I went for a longer drive today, down the motorway on a damp dirty road and after the fourth time of using the washer/wiper, it started working on its own again!! Any ideas now? |
