Hi all, Just looking at the responses its suggests that the '05-06 models get the higher mpg (around 33-36) whereas the 07 onwards return mid to upper 20's. Understand different engines. Any views. Recognise that the sample is small and not really significant. N |

bit new too the whole Pathfinder thing (about to pick mine tomorrow),but was originally looking for a Navara, and as they are basicaly the same engines it's down to the different generations.05-06/7 was classed as a Euro3 engine, worse emissions but better fuel economy, then at some point in 06/7 they intoduced the revised engine Euro4,worse economy but better emissions (apparently).
from what i've read,Euro3 engines average around 28-32+Euro4 24-28mpg. obviously manual/automatic makes a big diference aswell. HTH looking forward to picking it up. ![]() |

Hi, had my 09 PF for 6 months, when I got it from the dealer Arnold Clark Stirling, it was showing an avg of 28mpg, which was ok for me as it returned the same as my grand voyager, it is now down to 22 - 23 mpg, it is used daily with the odd motorway run, still not much better ?? have thought about adding one of these fuel aditives to see if that makes any diffrence ?. I also tow a large caravan of 1750kg + 5 kids in the back, and with a wife who wants to take stuff just incase Due to go caravaning in France next year so its going to be intresting to see the fuel bill total at the end of it. |

I’m only getting 23.1 and as Diesel is £1:40 a litter and no motorways in the Isle of Man its getting a bit expensive....

Hi all, Just update, I've my '57 pathfinder now at 45k miles and it has returned around the 27- 28 mpg. However, I have noticed that it varies consderably depending on journey and use. On short journeys in and around the village It can drop to 25 ish. On longer journeys, it has indicated max at 33+mpg. I put the variation down to cold running on short journeys. Towing is a different matter, whether its the dive rib or a two up horse box the mpg drops to around 23mpg. All that said its comfortable, reliable and has has towed with ease. I think we just have to grin and bear it, or have it chipped. I sympathise with the IOM and £1.40/ltr but pop up to the Uists and you will find it approaching £1.50/ltr. cheers Nairn |

I first had an 05 Pathfinder Manual which returned 31-33mpg and then foolishly traded it in for an 07 model which returns 28-29mpg. The reason is they upgraded the engine around 2007 to meet the Euro4 emission standards and this is the reason for the drop in fuel consumption so far as I can ascertain and explains why the older models always seem to do better than the newer ones. Of course you also end up paying more road tax so you get hit twice...needless to say I didn't think this was an improvement (there were some other subtle changes Nissan did to the model which were retrograde)
I do a lot of country road driving but find mpg is pretty consistant when averaged over a few weeks of usage. Overall though I still think the Pathfinder is one of the best 4x4. Value for money and the fact the dog can jump in the back (unlike the latest models from Solihull) |
