basically i have a 1.0 16valve engine with a timing chain which ive never worked on before and dont know really where to start so any help or pointers would be brilliant would like to try and do it over the long weekend

1. get a haynes manual 2. make sure you have all the parts headset, oil ,oil filter, antifreeze ect. 3. get your tools in order and make sure you have a decent torque wrench Its no more difficult than any other engine TBH if the engine has over heated check the head for cracks it may of warped too so it will need a skim otherwise the head gasket will blow again Edited by flash22 |

Hello and welcome. Have you had any experience of changing headgaskets? If you are mechanically minded then they are not too bad to do but if not i would suggest paying somebody to do it for you. Mick |
