I have a Micra 1.2 with alloys and 185/50 R16 81H tyres. Coming up to 17,000 miles, and 10 months old, needing replaced. About £120 each - has any one switched to steel wheels and cheaper tyres, or am I stuck with these ones? RayM |

thats a rip off price you can get them cheaper so shop around if you go for a wider width and smaller side wall there a more common size and only put the rolling radius out by 0.8% the price comes down to £60-90 a corner theres a thread in the note section of the forum have a look at that |

Try out the steel wheels, you might find it cheap. One of my friend tried to do so. He got the set very cheap and he is still using it.

the price you where quoted i guess is for a quality brand i.e. a continental / pirelli dont forget with these brands you will get far better braking and shorter stopping distances and with winter being here you need all the help you can get, there is no point in going for a cheap tyres that wont stop you when you need to stop, personally i use continental i feel safe with them on my car, whatever you do dont buy nankang tyres they are bloody awful i have seen reviews and some people say they should be renamed as ditch finders as thats where you'll end up
