Window Washer Pump

   Hi all

Well I have had my 2nd pathfinder now for approximately 18 months and "she" is my pride and joy, very few problems at all (Diesel economy could be better as could road tax but there you go)

However after the recent snow and ice I find myself unable to wash either front or rear windscreen, initially I thought it was frozen (even with loads of screenwash) but there is no way it was still frozen yesterday as it was 12 degrees.

I have water/screenwash in the bottle and have changed the appropriate fuse to check it wasn't that so I'm assuming its the pump - does anyone know where it is?  I think it is in the area around the washer bottle/under the drivers wheel arch type area but I'm guessing.

	Normally it's on the bottom of the washer bottle. If your bottle in near the front wing then you will have to take the wheel off and in the plastic splash guard to get an eyeball on the bottom of the bottle. You will find there will be either 1 or 2 motors on there, you can take a multimetre with ignition on and (with someone in the car) you can test each motor power plug to see if your getting power to the motor, should be 12v. You can also pull the motors out of the bottle (you will loose the fluid in the bottle) and take 2 wires from the battery + & - to either of the terminals on the motors and this will tell you if the motor works or not. Once you have done this you will know what you need to do. If you have no power at the plugs, check the fuse, if still no power you may need to change the stalk/switch. If you do have power at the plugs then the next step is to pluss the washer motor out and test it with 2 wires from the battery. Hope this helps. All the best.
