Hallo. I'm new to Club Nissan but it seemed a good place to start with my question. We drive an '05 Almera Tino automatic.
Back in March we had our rear brake pads and rotors replaced after the old pads wore down and damaged the disks. There is no question the brakes work, but the rear wheels (i.e., not just the disks but the wheels themselves) are getting very hot after about 20 minutes driving and occasionally squeaking at speed. We have metal hub caps, which are obviously transmitting heat from the rotors, but despite taking the car back twice (and having the flexes replaced as well) the garage can find no evidence of the pads binding or rubbing against the rotors ... the calipers and pistons are all fine and the wheel turns freely by hand. I know some friction-generated heat is normal, but the front wheels remain cool. How hot is too hot, and should I be worried? Thank-you. |

hi there im new to site but may be able to help. i had a similar problem. have you tried letting the car roll down a hill while in neutral. see if the car moves without any friction and does not slow down. you may have a bearing sticking or the brake pads are sticking against the discs. i recently had to change a wheel bearing. hope this helps.
