Hi, I'm proud  mum of 4 who's owned the same 1993 1.3 micra for the past 4 yrs. Unfortuntely some twit (driving instructor) drove into back of my car, which is sadly now a right off......  My excess is £400 & with a milage of 65000 will not be worth anything. But why such a HUGE excess ( iinsurace renewed 2 months ago) for a car that's not  worth the excess amount. Salvage will be picking up today, but I'm really uncomfortable with the face, I'll be paying £400 excess & my car will be taken away. Who's the Real winner here?  Oh, I've 10 yrs no claims cos touch wood never had accident since passing test in my teens - nearly 27 yrs ago, just scratches here & there.

Oh, should also add,  accident not my fault & have witness who volunteered to give personal details. Off to school run now. Speak to you all later.......

Thanks Notefever. Well my little runner has been taken away
today Was like a member of the family. Yes I know it
was only a piece of metal, but it looked after me for 14
yrs & never let me down once, even after the accident it
was still mobile, but because of dent on the back & boot
didn't close properly it is no longer mine. End of an era,
but tomorrow IS another day.
