x-trail aventura 171 2008 bad to start

   hi,
having problems starting my x-trail aventura 171 2008 model.
was taking some time to turn over,when it did start it would cut out after either a few seconds or after it had gon 2-300 yards.changed battery as technician(after droptest and alternator ok) said battery needed changing.
starts up ok now,but again cuts out after a few seconds idleing,then takes some turning over again to start.this happens after its been stoo for a few hours,its ok when its running,
any ideas

	bit the bullit and went back to main dealer after 2 unsuccsessful attempts by other well recommended garages to find fault. they found logged fault on diesel pressure valve,hopefully when rerplaced it works.
