South Korea and Algeria will face each other in a crucial Group H encounter
in Porto Alegre on Sunday.
After securing a point in their 1-1 draw with Russia earlier in the week, the
Koreans have a good chance of qualification and could
be the only Asian side to progress to the last 16 of the tournament.
Ahead of the game in the Estadio Beira-Rio, midfielder Ha Dae-sung has been
ruled out of Sunday's game after damaging a ligament in
his left foot, according to South Korean media reports.
Former Sunderland striker Ji Dong-won admits his side are wary of the threat
posed by Algeria, but is confident that his team will
out-battle their north African counterparts.
"I watched the game between Algeria and Belgium," the striker, who will join
Borussia Dortmund on July 1, told reporters.
"Algeria's attacking players are quick and each has their own quality.
Algeria are not an easy target.
"If we play the match (against Algeria) like we did with Russia, then our
chances are good."
Son Heung-min, Koo Ja-cheol and Swansea’s Ki Sung-yueng are all one yellow
card away from suspension, having picked up a caution in
their draw with Fabio Capello’s side.
Algeria have no fresh injury worries ahead of the game and are expected to
field an unchanged side from the one that lost
