the white stickers on the blue body work spoil the car, makes it look cheap.

its a right pain when everyone else decides to have a picnic in the same field as you and all turn up in the same car as you too.

apart from that, new wheels are 100% better than those wolfrace things you had on previously, Still a bit small though. The rear parking sensors say you're shit at reversing or too lazy to look over your shoulder and you need to lose laguna splitter (ive never thought it looked right on a GT bumper because of the gap in the middle) and do something different to the rest

Well thanks for you candid & frank comments.

As for the stickers would love them in silver but all in good time. Was a great picnic actually would recommend to all.

I actually still liked the old Wolfrace ones but due to future plans thought it was about time to get rid of the 15mm spacers to clear the Brembo's. Am loving the new ones if I can stay away from the kerbs?

Parking sensors, well I love a gadget me so thought I'd bring the car up to current spec wth them as most cars now have that option. Also means parking time in busy areas is so quick & keeps paint work sweet when in a rush.

Glad you mentioned the Laguna splitter as I have had it on the car for so many years now & wanted a change. I have already bought it's replacement so it will be on in due course...

Ed she drives very well considering that she is only setup for low boost at present. The power is there in bagfulls & once exhaust is replaced with 2.5-3" stainless I will get the live map done & get her on the rollers to see what bhp she is chucking out.

You have one VERY clean n Nicely put together ride man .. The headlights n new wheels were definate good choices .  And as for the lightweight pulleys ,I have them as well n agree fully  they really do help smooth out the powerband , I only did my Crank pulley tho , I wasnt able to find the others at a good price ..

Well after popping over to Jez from Horsham Developments to get my ECU re-mapped I felt compelled to find out what power my Nordic beast was pushing out.

Here are my graphs from my Nordic Blue P11 GTLE SR20DE-Turbo:

Torque:

Boost:

Air/Fuel:

Max figures are:
271 BHP @ 5300 RPM
285 lbs Torque @ 4150
at .9 bar of boost

Still loads to do & for a first attempt not a bad result but still plenty to sort out & am expecting higher figures once these are resolved. When I got back from the dyno run I checked the intake pipework as I was experiencing boost leak so I will need to rectify that before the next run (guess that will explain why the graph tailed off so quickly).

And before I forget to post them up here are some pics of the dyno run, video to follow (camera phone quality).

Well here are some shots of the latest modifications to my whip I hope you like, it was unveiled at the great weekender that was Angelsey 09 & was kindly fitted by the main man Nabber.

Here is the latest piece in the Nordic GTT puzzle:

Before:

During:

After:

In case anyone is feeling overly special the rocker cover & strut brace have been painted in a spell blinding blue (cannot remember the paint code).

Special thanks goes out to Nabber & his mate for sorting this little mod out for me (prep & painting) and helping to point out how sweet the colour would be. In addition to the fitting of the rocker cover, at the expense of valuable drinking time!

Also my thanks goes out to Graham for making several trips home to get various bits we needed to get the job done before the rain took hold your a star.

Also thanks to Yogi for his assistance & help in the fitting of said bolts (say no more).

I hope you all like I was not sure I would have liked so much blue under my hood (wait for the jokes to start) but it has grown on me & I may well not use the polished chrome looking one I have had waiting to fit since late last year.

Well some of you may have noticed from earlier posts today that there has been another change to my engine bay. With help from Ade (he did most of the work Embarrassed) we sucessfully relocated the MAF & the apexi air filter.

Now the original position of the MAF was causing issues with the fueling/running of the car as it was too close to the turbo. This also had an effect on the mapping of the car so now this is done we expect to release more of the potential from the engine.

Now due to my misunderstanding of the description of what needed to be done to complete the relocation I managed to completely advise Ade the wrong location for the MAF. Embarrassed

Therefore the MAF is currently in a vertical orientation rather than in the oem position (horizontal). Now I am not saying this is the correct or even a good idea but it's where it is for now so I will be keeping an eye on it till I either change it or something goes a miss.

So I guess some pics would be helpful at this time huh??? Tongue

Before:

During:

After:

Yeah I got a bit picture happy but as I was happy with how it looked I couldn't help it. Smile

Ok guys, after visiting Mick from Hi-Tech Motorsports I have some updated figures from the dyno. Now there are three graphs 1st after all checks to confirm the engine was in a sound state to be run.

This confirmed the power that was achieved at the previous RR I attended after the ECU map was altered. The others were after various tweeks to the fuel pressure & with the timing altered to 8* from 15*.

Here are the graphs sorry about the quality I will try & rescan them at a later date:

1st run:

2nd run:

3rd run:

So that is 298bhp at 6133rpm & roughly just under 260lbft at 5900, sorry forgot to ask for a print out of the torque figures was still in shock over the increase without any adjusting of the boost being run (0.9bar) Shocked

Ok it's been a while since my last update so I thought I'd let all those not in attendance at JAE see the work that went into my recent secret squirrel.

Now incase anyone couldn't spot the new addition it was a Honda accord fibre-glass splitter.

This was blended into the bumper to add curve rather than look like a bolt-on, I hope you all like it as much as I did when it was taking shape?

Now I was there throughout every step of the transformation & took some 200+ pictures but I'll spare you all of them & pic out just a selection. Maybe when I get my arse in gear I'll finish off my project section thread...

Anyway onto the pics:

Ok after another busy day oop in bonnie wee Scotland I have finally managed to free up some time to take pictures of the graphs from Friday's dyno runs & find the past runs done with GTT after the previous mapping session by another tuner (not setup on a dyno on the road instead).

After having issues with my ECU I decided to go in another direction with the engine management for the car. I am not suggesting the issue was related to the previous daughterboard so please let's keep this post on the facts...

After extensive research & glowing testimonials from others I trust who have used the equipment I decided to go with the now mature NIStune mapping software & daughterboard.

I contacted Pete from PMLS regarding the equipment needed to install the board but while investigating this option stumbled onto the work of FCTuning's Steve Sadler who has been supplying, fitting & tuning these boards for quite some time. Steve offered a very competative price for supply, fitting & mapping so I decided to go with that option as it would have worked out more expensive to have bought the board then paid for the mapping separately.

Due to the logistics with my car being north of the boarder once the board & base map were merged the board was sent up to Ant for installation. I won't bore you all with the intricate details but instead get on to the details you wanted to hear about.

Day of the Dyno began with me following Ant to Hypertech where a dyno tuning day had been planned with two P11's a pulsar & other cars all being tuned. This being the 1st time of me driving the car in almost 6 months I was nervous to be behind the wheel but this soon passed.

The base map did it's job & got the car to it's destination once all the prep had been carried out (remember preperation is the key to things going smoothly). Prior to setting off Ant fitted my new SARD fpr & gauge as per the recommendation by Steve, the improvement from the ebay jobbie was noticed immediately.

Now for the 2nd time that morning I looked as white as a sheep as once at the dyno all my fears about something going wrong had me worrying about having no car & failng in my quest to get GTT up & running properly. Ant commented on my expression & ensured he made sure I was sufficiently wound up over it...

The car was connected up to the dyno by Duncan the owner of Hypertech & we were now ready to let Steve work his magic. As he worked away with the engine in different stages of mapping I began to fret less & less as the time ticked on. The engine was singing & Steve was impressed with the build quality & made comment to Ant for all his quality work.

I didn't manage to take many pictures that came out clearly at all due to having forgotten my camera so images were taken with my iPhone.

Here are some images taken followed by the previous dyno results from the previous management system & map for comparrison (pictures are limited due to my needing to film the mapping at the request of Steve):

Previous runs:
Dyno Dynamics day of the original map

Dyno run after JF 2009:

As you can see from those graphs the fueling was far from ideal & the figure was indeed disappointing from a retrospective viewpoint.

Now do I reveal the new graphs or come back later to post them???

Ok I will sort it now so you all don't try & lynch me on mass:

Dyno run 20/08/10:

BHP @ flywheel

BHP @ wheels

Boost setting @ 1.2 bar

Torque - 347 ft lbs

So there you have it am I estatic you bet ya I am there are so many positives the engine has so much more to give Steve believes if I replace the 2.5" exhaust with a 3" I will get better results due the the restriction of the gases getting out of the manifold faster without putting as much strain on the turbo. He also stated he felt the boost could be raised as high as 1.5 bar but that he wasn't sure the gearbox or driveshafts could handle the additional power. This leaves me with a nice few options if I crave more power but honetly I am just happy to have the car properly setup and ready to be driven & enjoyed.

I hope this hasn't taken up too much of your time & can I just say a few thank you's to those who have helped me in the recent months with getting the car back on the road...

Gizz - Andy, thank you for getting my stricken car & taking it oop north you are a life saver & I owe ya big time.

Ant-Dat, you are a Legend my friend & by far one of the most talented if not the most talented folk I have ever had the fortune to have met & been helped by.
