Subject: ECU QUESTIONS

I m looking (somehow) to reprograme my cars ecu..

In Greece, none can re-ensure me that, the car will be working

properly.

Only Impul seems to have a solution.

The problem is that they don't export anything to us..

What should i do?

the impul ecu is for the 1.5 petrol (HR15DE) theres loads of companys that will ship any jdm car stuff from japan for a small fee

I have used j-garage in the past without any problems, newera are another company but there shipping costs are high

talking to a uk remap company the ecu can bit chipped but for a price also because the ecu is in the engine bay it needs to be sealed properly too

Here is my engine bay

And the rest of my car..!

What i was told here, is that i could use a piggy-back ecu to

do the job done.

What i was also told, is that the cars stock ecu, will be missleaded

from the piggy back and the check engine lamp, will be flashing

any time from the installment.

anyway, The thing is, my revs will still have a limit of 6700rpm.

http://www.impul.co.jp/products/HPCU.htm - http://www.impul.co.jp/products/HPCU.htm

Impul has this called "high power control unit"

for the Japanese March with the CR14DE engine, but none over

here has ever tryed it, so i don't know what to expect from it,

even if i figure a way to ship it.

What it also seems interesting, is what you told me about

remaping the cars stock ecu in UK and about j-garage!

About cams, has anyone over there, found something interesting?

Thx 4 your help!

its the same colour as mine but I have a 1.6 and a facelift model

on the list todo...........

17" lenzo alloys - to be fitted

eibach springs - got to order them yet

one day i will get my custom grille finished and spoiler painted/fitted

I have a front strut brace to fit also but have got to work out a mod for the bonnet stay

I am also looking into a rear anti roll bar (or sway bar)

everything is on hold a while due to a broken ankle and good old britsh weather

I think BV4 color, fits most in Note.

The main dif. between the pro-facelift and the facelift mods, are

the rear axle and the gearbox differential.

since you got the 1.6 version, i believe we have the same

ratiios and differential!

I have also replaced the rear lights from your version.

I've ordered NOS sniper (wet) just in case we can't find a way

of serius improving my CR engine..

In case my engine explodes  people from Nissantuners.gr

talked to me, to change the CR engine, to an SR20VE.

(engine has been found already)

Of course this means the end of everyday use car,

(thank God i've got a second for a mule use )

and it's gonna need a serious amount of money to be completed.

If you want an advise, try not exceed 205../../17 for your

tyres. It may get slippy in heavy rains...!!

do you mean shocks ?

i was looking at koni's but there pricey

theres an underbody brace made by tanabe (usa) that fits the versa and the cube whats the same platform B as the note so that may well fit too

The only problem with using an sr engine is its non canbus at it will cause major problems with ecu and bcm

good upgrade if you can find one is the HR16DET from the qashqai whats 180 bhp out the factory with a lot of work it will be good for 230-245 at the flywheel

Very sorry for the delayed awnswer..

-do you mean shocks ?

-yes! that's the word, i was looking for...! lol

The combination of hard shocks-springs, wouldn't make the car

more stiff (sharper of course) but with more oversteering,

when getting pushed?

I was told to use more progressive shocks, so the car would

react more gentle when i'm having the most from it.

(don't know if this is true, though..)

-theres an underbody brace made by tanabe (usa) that fits the versa and the cube whats the same platform B as the note so that may well fit too.

-You should check if the distances are also the same for the nuts.

Maybe there, are small differences and (a little) customizing will be

needed!

-The only problem with using an sr engine is its non canbus at it will cause major problems with ecu and bcm

-The thought was to use an Apex-i (stand alone) and remove the

module.

Here is an UK k12 with an SR16VE fitted..

If the sr 16 fits on our platform, so would the sr20.

-Very good engine (though i didn't knew it before CN) but

how easy to get this engine is?..

Everyone likes the big torque from turbos

Many thanx for your interest!

dont think the Hr16DET has been done yet its the same block as the HR16DE it just runs different cams, oil pump and a low pressure turbo (2-3 psi iirc)

canbus isnt a problem if you know about electronics but your average joe blogs doesnt anything is possable if you have the time and money

the lenso's reisen i have are 17" with P zero neros on them

these are them but mine are in gun metal

The Micra K12 the same platform as the note, its based on the same platform as the renault clio mk3 but its is shorter with engine bay being totaly differnt

the engine bay of the note is identical to the cube and the americams have managed to shoe horn the qr25 v6 into a cube mk 3

The cars based on the streched B platform are.......

The HR 16 DEt engine is the same with

Nissan's 1.6 L DIG-T (Direct Injection Gasoline Turbo-charged) engine from Nissan Juke?

If so, maybe it would be a little easier to purchase one!

The wheels looks very nice and nasty!

Just be carefull for the offset and the steering wheel angles.

They may need adjustment to avoid understeer.

i got the nearest offset to the oem wheels as i could, allowing the for tire clearance aswell

I have a freind with a 4 wheel Alignment setup so getting that done isnt a problem

The juke hasnt been out long but there are a far few of crashed qashqai's about and engines can be had cheaply if you shop around

That's great!

Cause note steers pretty good, although the factorys tyre sizes

emphasize comfort and not handling!

I like your shoes (greek slung for wheels) V.much!

Good choise.

Qash (at least the Greek versions) comes only with N/A engines,

except 2,0lt turbodiesel.

So i'll probably have to wait, to get an 1.6 T engine..

Will see how things goes.

For braking improvemets, i was thinking about Brembo discs and

ferodo pads for something quick and and not expensive

(est. 220 p, more or less)

And for something much better 282mm Galfer (complete kit, with the

adapters) 4 pots

(est. 800 p.)

My Brakes, needs to be raplaced imediatelly,

cause they are not ok and when i brake the steering wheel

trembles..

What's your opinion?

vibration through the wheel is usually worn pads or warped discs

I couldnt justify £1000 on brakes. esp on a 1.4, grooved/dimpled disc's with decent pads would be my option

if i had power up front i would look at 4/6 or even 8 pot brake calipers

hi-spec in the uk do some very nice kits

my next project is to design and build a custom gauge pod for 3 gauges among other things

I'll look for it (hi-spec kits) thanks a lot!

I'll do ithome though, cause here my internet is not totally unlocked..!

My pads are new (almost) with a few thousants km and not

missused (this time) so it must be from the discs..

The last time we measured the front disks was 0.1cm (0.0033ft)

thiner from the original size, so they need replacement.

A little update...!

New discs and pads fitted!

Cat, is off.. Fortunately, i still have guarantee!!!

As long for, "the ecu matter" i've decided to use the:

Greddy e-manage.

Yet i don't know if i need the e-manage ultimate or just the e-manage.

they all sound blah... blah.. to me!

But i'll figure it out!!!

So! Dear folks,

i wish to you all:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

and I hope, all your dreams come true!!

Keep tuning!

The best price i could get one is 700 euro.

(The ultimate, with all the connectors needed for my Note).

For programming it will take about 300-350 euros.

(On dyno).

Still, i will need a custom (aluminium) inlet for the NOS system to

be fited...
