Hi, thinking of buying an auto  Note as impressed by it's use of space for a small car and they appear to drive OK.

Have seen a low mile SE spec car in decent nick but it's an import (looks Far East, I'm guessing Japan or Malyasia). Question is are all Notes built in Sunderland or do they also make them elsewhere. The import bit doesn't worry me at the right price, but would be concerned about access to parts. Anyone any experience.

Cheers

iirc there built in japan as well as the uk, all what happen is the uk factory gets parts in from japan and bolts them together (the big bits)

only ones that can be a pain to gets bits for is the 4 wheel drive ones (electric motor in the back)

shop around as theres plenty of notes on the market, sve is the one to look for as its better spec'd

Thanks for the info, went and viewed the car at the weekend  but decided against it. Condition & Spec was OK but the OEM CD player had been swapped for an aftermarket job, presumably because the original didn't work in the UK. Also the engine was listed on the V5 as a 1500 and not 1598cc and so decided to steer clear in case it was a different powerplant.

Will keep searching.

The imports and jap cars have the 1.5 petrol (HR15DE) !! so thats correct for an import

Eu and uk cars have the 1.6 (HR16DE)

If you intrested in imports the tiida is the new replacement for the Almera but was never made a uk Model as the note  replaced the almera (iirc)

Tiida

Tiida is based on the same platform as the note and shares many parts in the nissan range

Do you not have problems with things like fog lights on
import Nissan Notes as well?

I know you do on other Jap imports.
