neither handle on the NSR door (2005 pathfinder) will operate the door so im assuming a critical component had decided to break! both handles move freely but dont engage.

has anyone any idea on how to open the door as ive had a good look around and can see no obvious way without causing damage??

any help greatly appreciated!

Hello topskills,

The only way is to remove the inner door card as bast as you can, then reach in and try to pull the release rod for the inside door handle.

If this done not work then you may have a lock problem, meaning the lock motor mechanisum is not moving to bring the release mechanism back into play to let you open the door.

Either way you will have to take the door card off as best as you can to get at either the release rod or the lock motor.

Normally it's just a dirty plug on the motor, a squirt of WD40 in the plug and a good wiggle sorts that out so you can get the door open to let you get at the motor and plugs to clean them up.
