Hi everyone,  just discovered this site so I thought I might ask a questions about my Nissan Note and see what experience other people have had.

I bought a new Nissan Note Sept 2009, a 1.6 automatic petrol engine n-tec.  Driving around south London and the suburbs I was only getting about 24mpg which has slowly increased to about 27mpg. First service made no difference.  An experienced mechanic friend thought this figure was a bit on the low side.

Does anyone get about the same, more or less, or is there a problem with the fuel management system.

Apart from that everthing else is brilliant.

Cheers

Mike

Thanks for the reply.

We have driven autos for  a long time and I tend to try and keep the air con off.

My other half is a bit of a speedster so that does not help!

Just done a long motorway drive and got about 47 doing 70 ish.

Might ask Nissan for advice.

Cheers

HI guys . i have the Note tekna diesel.

around town its doing up 60 mpg. 55mpg most of the time.

trip to Scotland 500 miles ? normally 550??? she returned 67mpg brill
i filled up at home. and got there with just over 1/4 tank left, was starting to think the guage was wrong!!! after driving around local a few miles i filled up at £1.20 pl  and it took £37 quid very happy with the car.

after working it out on the calculater wow its was 71mpg and not the 67mpg shown on the clock..

the bad news was on the way home

she used a lot more fuel.with weather conditions etc snow ice etc.
slow traffic.!! she was on the red can see was worse thought i dont need to fill her up ...

the fuel i used was shell in scotland but it had biofuel in with it ??? only noticed when i refilled it ready for trip home!!!
around 7% if i recall !!! hope it dont damage the car.
CAW CANNY BUT CAW AWA..
Go carefully but keep on going!!

it's shocking in town. my 1.6 tekna auto can only manage about 34mpg at most around town (less most of the time) and near 40mpg if i stick to 60mph on the motorways.

with the petrol prices at about £1.34 per litre, I get about 100 miles out of £20.

not very good for a japanese super mini.

I have a 2007 tekna auto and I have tested the mpg by filling the tank then refilling after doing a hundred miles or so then calculating the usage. Around our local town and villages it usually is about 34-36 mpg, on a run to dorset  doing 350 miles it only cost £46 which is about 47 mpg at 135.5 per litre at the time, which i think is very good a lot better than my old 2003 2.2 dti vectra. I think be as light as you can on the throttle and it does improve the mpg quite alot.

It does have a trip computer but they are not 100 percent accurate.

if you want a accurate reading fill up then record the usage but the computer is fine for day to day. I am very pleased with the mpg concidering that it is a 1.6 auto.

mines not far off give or take 2%, one thing i have found, i get better mpg on regular (95-96 ron) than i do running it on premium

got a 100 odd mile trip coming up 1/3 motorway and 2/3 on an A road so see what it does then
